We are currently using the old transmittal management. The plan is to replace that with Portal. Currently we are hitting the size limits of Transmittals and the Portal is not looking any better in that respect.

Our customers sometimes ask us to re-deliver all latest document revisions of the project. This kind of request requires us to deliver a package of about 7000 documents and the size can be about 5 GB. Current limit of 1000 documents and 3 GB makes this kind of request laborious to fulfill. It is time consuming to chop deliveries into smaller pieces.

In our bigger projects these numbers would theoretically be much larger(10 fold), but there we do not get such requests. This is because bigger customers are more organized and they do not mess up their end. Hence they do not need to make this kind of requests.

Larger limits make the upload and download processes more risk prone. If the file sizes are very large, then the file transfer mechanism would need to be able to resume after it has been interrupted by some network issue.
