Configure the quicksearch in PowerWeb Client

Submitted by Claudio Gularte on behalf of Daniel Hunziker

Change Description:
A way to configure how the simple quick-search (staring in the quick-search field not using the menu function search) is executed.

Currently, if I use quick-search it will search either all Properties or properties and full-text. In my scenario, I would like to be able to have a third option "find in all predefined fields" this would search in a set of properties, I could define for this customer.

And a way to hide the standards like "All TextFields".

Expected result / Actual Result:

1 - A custom option where is possible to create a combination of properties as a quick-search filter.

2 - With the custom quick-search filter, an option to hide the standards "All TextFields".

Thank you again for your suggestion.

Currently, users of Meridian PowerWeb Client have the capability to select which property will be searched, as opposed to All Properties. See screen capture attached. By clicking on the down arrow next to the search icon, users can select one of the properties that the Administrator has configured as ‘Key Find’ properties. This is also explained in the User’s Guide in the Using Quick Find section.

From your description, though, it seems that the users will need to search within several properties at once, not just one at a time. Let me know if that is the case.

As a direction for development, would it be sufficient for the users to be able to filter on the columns in the Navigation Views?

Can you also help me understand what the users are trying to accomplish? For example, searching for a text string within multiple title fields, or some other use case?
