    Meridian 2019 R2 has introduced 'red/green/black' compare. Further improvement are planned for the 2020 and further releases.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    It is now possible to compare PDF renditions side-by-side in the 2019 release of Meridian.

    Regarding the suggestion to move away from SQL Server Compact Edition, that is currently planned for a release later this year.

    Note that a database of some kind is still needed to track the documents in the local workspace (LWS). SQL Server CE will likely be replaced with SQLite.
