In a lot of cases we don't need native viewing anymore (for released documents we have an up-to-date rendition that we can view). When a document is under change the rendition can be outdated. The source document is modified without updating the rendition.
In this kind of situation it would be nice to trigger an "Update Rendition" (with priority) when someone tries to view an outdated renditions. When this takes some time I think it's acceptable (this is less worse then looking at an outdated rendition).
