Looking for an alternative CAD platform using BricsCAD. I like the automatic sync with the vault for title blocks in AutoCAD. I would like to see Meridian extend it's integration support for additional CAD platforms.
That is disappointing to hear. I was hoping that Meridian might have an API that 3rd party programs could link into to extend integration. Yes BricsCAD uses the same DWG format as AutoCAD. And I understand that Meridian can sync/update titleblocks with-in Meridian without the need for any CAD software. The ability to make change to title block info in Meridian and easily sync to title block while the drawing was open is very convenient. Thanks for the update.
We are not intended to extend the supported software list with BricsCAD. As noted by Rudi, AutoCAD DWG formats is supported, including update title-block and refence synchronization in Meridian
When opening a drawing that is kept in the Meridian using BricsCAD I get a proxy object warning, (see image attached). Meridian also has the UPDATETITLE command in AutoCAD and this is not recognized in BricsCAD, and I'm not sure where I would load it. No BricsCAD did get installed after Meridian, is there a way to tell meridian to work with BricsCAD, or am I going to have to try an uninstall/re-install? I now finally have BricsCAD installed so I can do some testing.
No Specific issue, as I don't have BricsCAD installed yet. Since we use Meridian my supervisor "needs" the connection to the vault to work properly. He "needs" to see BricsCAD listed in the 'supported software' from Accruent to believe that the integration works without any hidden bugs. I'm working to try to get BricsCAD installed so I can test it. I was just hoping that Accruent would like to enlarge the "Supported Software" in an effort to grow market share. If I can get BricsCAD installed this year I will test the integration, but I don't have high hopes for moving forward on this right now.
Hi Kevin, as far as I know BricsCAD uses the same DWG format as AutoCAD and the Meridian integration features should also work. What issues do you encounter?
