It would be very useful to be able to set the default numbering per document type. This way, we can configure how documents should be numbered. We have a separate document type for drawings, which should be numbered manually with the filename so that references can be found by Meridian. Other document types should be automatically numbered (in our case), while the filename preferably can be copied in the Title field. It would be even better when we can disable the manual numbering per document type, but this is not a must have.

Meridian should also check if the automatic assigned number isn't already used by another document which was manually numbered. In that case it should take the next available number.
