Install Meridian with SQL CE 4

Submitted by Claudio Gularte on behalf of Don Hodges.

Change Description:

The Meridian server install requires SQL 3.5. Most customers have an issue with this version as it has a security flaw and wants to start with SQL CE 4.0.

How can we do this? If we install that first, it says that SQL 3.5 is not installed, if we ignore that message it will not install the Meridian services or so it would seem. How can we install Meridian on a new server with only SQL CE 4.0? Is this possible?

Expected result / Actual Result:

Install the Meridian using SQL CE 4.0 instead of SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5.

I know SQLite is an option on the client side now but any news on the server side? As of 2022 it asks about MSAccess, and if that is not installed it wants SQL CE 3.5.

Rudi Pieters Feb 5, 2019 We intend to move to SQLLite, which does not require an install, just a DLL to be available. Would this address your issue?
