Publisher can push documents into SharePoint online. This is done by using a username/password combination to get access. Our security policies demand use of MFA for accessing O365 services. Our Azure people are saying that currently Meridian is using legacy protocols to authenticate towards SharePoint online.

Perhaps the access method towards SharePoint online needs to be reviewed. Make sure that it is working according to Microsoft's latest recommendations.
