Paul's reference to symbology and using the viewing in a smarter way is spot on for our industry. I have seen this question floating around several times to make it easy to use standard industry symbols to make the markup more efficient, which is one of the reasons people really like bluebeam

In this context, I would like to at least see if there is an option to include a list of ISO and/or ISA engineering symbols inside the redline layer, so many engineering and owner/operators companies can paste a valve, equipment etc. in a P&ID or an electrical symbol in a one-line diagram.

The existing redline capabilities are very minimal as most users still have to

    1. Print or download the drawing

    2. Manually or Electronically draw or insert the symbols (in Bluebeam, Adobe, Nuance and or other PDF Professional apps) to revise an engineering drawing and

    3. Scan and/or insert the manual/electronic redlined drawing as an attachment in the redline option within Explorer or Power.

Most users in our organization are very satisfied with the search and workflow capabilities, but have a major comment on the redlining.

This is in particular important for all Operational facilities and Office Engineering personnel to view all the (latest) redlines on each Master drawing of which some might not have been drafted (in a project copy) to date.

When we download a record with redline comments then upload to Blue Beam that more often than not the redline comments are not being transferred into Blue Beam. A number of vendors use Blue Beam for redlining documents/drawings and would like this functionality to work.

can bluebeam be integrated with Explorer to use for markup instead of PDFtron?

What I meant was to make BlueBeam an optional viewer / redlining tool inside of Meridian that would work with the renditions.

Rudi Pieters Sep 27, 2018 What do you mean by 'integrating'? In Meridian Portal documents with annotations can be up- and downloaded; this allows markup with BlueBeam. Similar functionality is planned for Meridian Power. Or do you mean integration with BlueBeam Studio?

travis.bennett@chsinc.com Oct 23, 2018 Hi Rudi, Can you upload the BlueBeam maked up file as a redline copy for workflow?
