Bring editing of tables and lookup lists to the web

With the roll-out of the Power webclient we don't wan't to install the configurator on client desktops, but (most of the time) document managers are not allowed to work on the server.
Management of tables and lookup-list should be made possible via the web interface (preferably within the Power Webclient).

Still an issue but again no new info. Tables in Portal is no solution.
I think Idea's are not taken serous enough (sometime a wish is a serious issue that will not be handled by support, because it involves new functionality).

Still no new info on this subject???
To use Meridian cloud for this is no feasible option (when we have a pure on-prem solution without portal).

Is there any new information from Accruent on this idea?

There is an (newish?) article in the documentation, under "Accruent Meridian Enterprise Knowledge Base " -> "How to create an external page to edit Meridian lookup tables".

It's a Web application that can be called as an External Property Page from the PowerWeb, and allows changes in Meridian Tables (not lookup lists).

It's a bit crude, but I managed to get it to work with minor changes in code.

Not ideal, but could provide an alternative.

    COMMENTS:

Rudi Pieters Jan 9, 2018 We intend to centralize lookup lists in then Meridian Cloud configuration. The ability to use these central lookup lists in Meridian (Cloud and Server=on premises) in the 2018R2 or 2019 release.

Brendan Greene Jan 25, 2018 Totally agree, it would be extremely useful to provide a user interface via a web client (power or enterprise) for administrators to update configuration Tables. This is really a drawback in the use of tables.

Frank Mönkemeyer Jun 21, 2018 Hi Rudi, is this now included into 2018R2 or into 2019? Regards Frank

Rudi Pieters Jul 11, 2018 In 2018R2 it is possible to synchronise lookup list from Meridian Portal. This is now limited to the predefined Portal properties which support lookup list.

Hans van Koelen Jul 18, 2018 Synchronize lookup lists from the portal is only a partial solution (and not the solution i was looking for). Editing tables is often done by document managers who have no access to the servers. So it would be very nice to enable editing lookuplists (as well as tables) thru the (power) web interface. I don't consider this idea as "shipped"

Frank Mönkemeyer Jul 19, 2018 I don not see editing tables in a web browser for Meridian server shipped. Synchronising from M360 portal was not the objective of "Bring editing of tables and lookup lists to the web".

Aaron Swain Aug 22, 2018 Is this functionality going to be made available for on premises without relying on Meridian Cloud?

DANIEL HUNZIKER Sep 24, 2018 any news abotu thist one. Should not be marked as shipped, the shipped solution is not what was asked in this post?

Hans van Koelen Dec 11, 2018 Indeed the problem still exist. People who need to change/alter/extend tables most of the time are not allowed access to the server. We can't provide them the configurator when DCOM is not enabled in a typical centralized enviroment. Plz, give us an other (and real) solution.
