Unlock Master from Project and relock in order to perform certain functions
Need this feature available in Power Web as it is currently only available in Power User, just find it annoying to open the application on my desktop in order to perform certain tasks
The ‘Unlock Master Document' command in the Meridian PowerWeb client works a little bit differently than it does in the thick client. While the thick client allows users to remove this lock from the master document, the user is not made aware of which project copy placed the lock in the first place. This often leads to confusion when placing the lock again.
In the PowerWeb client, the command is executed from the perspective of the project copy, and there are two ways of doing this:
The first is from the Master document. From the Master document, choose the ‘Master and Project Copies’ icon to see all of the related project copies. This shows the master document (with a red lock indicating it’s locked) and all project copies. Right-click on the project copy that locked the master (this project copy will have a blue lock), and from the context menu, choose Project / Locks / Unlock Master Document.
The second way to unlock the master is from the project copy itself. Navigate to the project copy, and from the Project ribbon, in the Locks group, click Unlock Master Document.
The master document can be locked again using the same two ways by choosing Lock Master Document instead.
Thank you again for the suggestion.
