It should be possible to enforce automatic naming in Meridian Cloud
Currently it is possible for all users, who can create documents in Meridian Cloud, to skip the automatic naming conventions and name the document manually.
It should be possible to force automatic naming, at least for non-administrators.
Hi Coen, I understand that CAD references may be a concern, however, the administrator should have the choice, especially if they are batch importing other documents such as PDF's, Word, Excel etc.
Automatic naming is the default setting for creating new documents. When importing multiple documents the default setting is manual naming and the file name is used to determine the name. The user can apply automatic naming after the document has been imported.
One of the reasons to use the file name upon import is to support reference management. CAD applications i.e. AutoCAD and MicroStation use a relative path to the file name to locate an external reference. Meridian needs the file name to resolve and create the reference in Meridian.
