Change the upper limit of the "itemspercall" registry key to allow higher numbers of documents/folders to be displayed without giving the message "XXX items to be displayed"

Hi,

One of our customers is frustrated at the "XXX items to be displayed" message when opening folders in the PowerWeb with more than 300 items.

He was wondering if it would be possible to either, 1) Increase the upper limit before the message appears or 2) Suppress the message in a "do not ask me again" kind of way.

Customer message: "To me it is just an irritation that pops up way too often, so yes, please go ahead and suggest this as an option to disable it or (do not show again tick box) or modify the threshold, but if it has a genuine function please advise."

I explained to the customer that it was to do with performance and is just a warning, which he now understands however, he has asked the following. "Thanks for the explanation, now I know, that makes me feel more so that it should be optional and like many other messages of that nature they have a tick box to ‘not display again’."

Thanks

Owen

From Meridian 2020 the limit can now be set to 3,000. The reason for this limit is to avoid hanging the browser if a very large HTML page is created.
To solve this finally we need to change the way we build list in PowerWeb, loading the items in a page rather than refreshing the entire page. This is on the roadmap as a UX item but will take considerable effort.

I would second this change. All our customers complain about this, especially customers with vaults that have hundreds of thousands of documents.
