This customization was indeed not tested/developed for Meridian 2020r2, but since you are interested in this version, we can take a look if it is possible to adapt.
Already good to read Accruent has enabled this functionality. I'm using PowerWeb 2020R2 but unfortunately the fix isn't working. I do see the black and white button in PDFTron but nothing happens when I press them, the background of the dwg rendition stays white.
In my opinion a black or white background should be determined by the file extension of the source document. For example, always set the background to white except when the file extension of the source document is dwg.
I agree, our customer would also like to change the background to black, to enhance the viewing of coloured line types . These don't stand out as much against a white background. Some hazardous equipment is always coloured yellow.

Hi Irineu,
Already good to read Accruent has enabled this functionality. I'm using PowerWeb 2020R2 but unfortunately the fix isn't working. I do see the black and white button in PDFTron but nothing happens when I press them, the background of the dwg rendition stays white.
I guess we'll have to upgrade first...
There is a easy to install customization alternative that will allow back background for drawings, check the link https://meridian.hashnode.dev/how-to-add-black-background-for-pdftron-viewer-drawings-in-the-power-web-interface
I agree, it should be a users preference view setting.
This would indeed be beneficial for drawings.

I suppose users can currently set this per file type, so that would be nice to have.
For all documents? So also e.g. manuals?
In my opinion, it should be a user preference setting.
Would a white or black background be:
For all documents / based on document classification / per document
For all users / user preference?
I agree, our customer would also like to change the background to black, to enhance the viewing of coloured line types . These don't stand out as much against a white background. Some hazardous equipment is always coloured yellow.
This is especially true for viewing drawings. A quote from a customer
"They are using to seeing drawings on a black background which means that certain colors standout. This is not the case with a white background."
Black background or 'dark mode' switch would be very well received in the full Meridian suite of tools!
